Base Camp staff will expand the existing tailgate space into an office next door, bringing it to more than 10,000 square feet. The large space in the middle has also been redesigned to allow more space for another activity: ping pong.

"We want this to be a landmark for Boise," Phillips said. "It's a great place near the Greenbelt. I think it's going to be great to help downtown and give people another option. Base Camp Pong & Ax will hear the fair use permit in December. Phillips and his team hope to open early next year.
